Kinjo Sushi and Grill in Calgary

We go here often. Good is always consistently fresh and tasty. We have always been served promptly and all of the staff are friendly. I know most of them by name. 100% would always reccomend them to anyone. Even if you don't like sushi you will find things to eat here.

We had a surprise company celebration come up and we needed lunch for 15 people THE NET DAY!! I called Kinjo at 340pm Monday for a catered lunch on TUESDAYRob put me at ease, and said NO PROBLEM. He gave me all sorts of options we could do , like platters, and warm dishes... after a quick 15 minute call I KNEW we would be taken care of. Then next day.. RIGHT ON TIME.. the store manager Andre delivered the food and it was DELICIOUS. 5 giant platters, 3 orders of Tempura veggies AND shrimp, any kind of sushi you could imagine... and it was FANTASTIC!! The service on the phone with Rob and with Andre when he brought the food was TOP NOTCH.. Service with a smile!!! We will definitely be using KINJO for out next office lunch/party!!!!THANK YOU SO MUCH ROB AND ANDRE!!!!

I go here lots that is as of now ! Harry has offered me the worst service i have ever gotten anywhere ! Ive never been yelled at over the phone placing an order. Makes me really uncomfortable to order food from someone with an attitude like that! Nothing bad about kinjo but Harry needs an attitude adjustment or find a new job. I know kinjo doesn’t stand for that.

The food is good and the people are amazing, but today my experience was not the greatest. My english is not the best over the phone, because I have a thick accent. I decided to order from skip the dishes for pick up since it is easier for me. When I got there, to pick it up, the guy told me off because I ordered over skip the dishes instead of over the phone. Sadly, this is not the first time the server has acted this way to me or my family, it was the third time. I felt the customer service was very bad from his side. I hope he improves his customer service and management takes this feedback into consideration. If is not the case, I sadly will not be returning.

I love Kinjo and was super happy when it decided to open a south location in Mahogany. Food is always consistent, fresh and delicious. I am also happy that they now serve the dishes offered from Tokyo Street Market, (on center street) with affordable ramen and yakitori choices! It is awesome when you can choose from a "snack size" mini ramen all the way up to a "deluxe" size depending on how hungry you are! I recommend the pork yakitori sticks - tasty and only $5! Sushi and sashimi are fresh. Their rolls taste great! Staff here are super friendly and attentive. They also have a point/stamp system that can get you free Pocky and $20 off your next visit. Overall I recommend this place, great restaurant for many occasions!

Overall they have decent sushi but I have mixed feelings on how to rate this. The wasabi and spicy mayo didnt seem to have much of a kick at all and for me this is essential to the sushi experience. They had great service and great location and plenty to choose from on the menu, but most sushi rolls come as 4 pieces.

I've been going to this Kinjo ever since it opened and the staff has always been amazing. The food is consistently good and everyone gives great customer service!

If I could give more than a 5 star rating I would. This was our second time here and we were even more impressed than the last time. The staff was nice, friendly and service was great. Our server Johnny was amazing and took great care of myself and my wife. The manager Andre very welcoming and full of energy. Even though I've never been to another Kinjo location, I don't think I will go elsewhere. You all are awesome, keep up the amazing work!

The service is so great! We ordered bubble tea and while waiting for our order, the manager introduced himself to us, thanked us for coming to the store and gave my brother some candy!

My girlfriend and I came for the second time to dine in this evening, and had a fantastic experience. Grace was our server and handled a special request quickly and professionally, involving the general manager and surprising us both with their promptness and willingness to try. Quite often you don’t get that mentality any more, it’s simply can’t be done, or won’t be tried. But I’m thankful to see people still genuinely want to help no matter how they can. Keep up the great work, Kinjo staff. Food was great as always, of course.

Relaxed atmosphere and great service. The foods is good and you'll go home well fed and feeling chill. Love this place.Update: Beyond the dining experience, I think it’s important to recognize how amazing the organization and leadership team at work here is. You get a real sense of how solid the teamwork is here from the kitchen to the servers to the other staff. Everyone works hard, no one complains, everyone laughs and seems to be having fun. You see managers helping to bus tables, and the staff remember their diners like they’re family friends. It’s the little details. This place is the real deal.

My spouse and I come here but once in awhile as its pretty expensive once you get the ball rolling. However for the times we come here the food is always delicious and the staff is helpful and have fun. Great place

Absolutely love sushi and KINJO always provides us the best. Great food, excellent choices and the staff & management always make it a phenomenal experience. Can’t wait till next time.

Their service is friendly and setting is great for families. I come here with the kids often and both love it here. They have small portions for Ramen as well and it's great for little ones. Food quality isn't bad either, we love coming here for lunch because of their large selection.

I had previously dropped my rating, but I have since ordered a number of times and it's always been great service and great food.This has always been one of our favorite sushi spots.Love the Tokyo Street Market menu as well.

This place is incredible and has done a terrific job during the quarantine. Picking up food is super efficient. We also noticed in the order we most recently picked up did not have an item that was meant to be included. We came back and they then provided two of the item as an apology. Power move.

My first time coming to this restaurant and overall I was impressed. The aesthetics of the place is modern yet very calming and comfortable. The customer service was absolutely amazing considering every employee asked if we needed something often. The restaurant is clean and the kitchen is out in the open so you can the cooks working away on the orders. The food was decent quality with a lot of options to choose from. The sushi was fresh and of great quality. When I was leaving to pay for the check, the General manager introduces himself and was very concerned how our experience was. In return for being a first timer, he let us choose a free food item from their mini store they have inside the place. I have to say the customer service here is incredible and we will be returning!

Kinjo is always a safe choice for sushi. This location is one of the best in the city. In my opinion, not all kinjos in town are the same

I cannot say enough good things about this place! First off the atmosphere is amazing, the sushi is fresh and phenomenal , and the owner always makes an effort to go above and beyond. My partner and friends attended the sushi making class here and it is "A MUST DO"! So informative, tons of sushi, and so much fun! I will most definitely be back again and again! A BIG Thank You to Andre and Andy for making the sushi class so special!:)

Food is really great plus it is really affordable. My 2 boys loved this place so much that they even went here just to have lunch ( without us, using a transit because they don’t drive yet ). Having very friendly staff is also a big plus!

This is my favorite sushi place in town! Great food, lively atmosphere and fantastic service. They also do a live tuna cutting show every Saturday night, which is very cool to watch and eat!

Ramen was great! We used to go to Shibuya but this is my favourite place from now on. Convenient rates and decent portions. Service was quick and staff are very friendly.

Always a blast. Great food and fun, polite and quick staff. Food is good too, with a huge variety of items to choose from. Make sure to come during one of their blue fin tuna shows. A great time is had and also some learning for the kiddos.The staff and management are very accommodating and this place is extremely kid from friendly.I would say that if you are looking for a quiet place to eat, this isn't it. Always lively and fun atmosphere here.

Great place. Superb management. Free 4 piece sampler at the start. Free comped dish from the gm. Women and children get free pockys. Very warm and friendly. Prices are on point. Food was flavorful and fresh especially the saba.

Good food at great prices. No it's not the best Japanese in town but it's probably the best value and prices let you try lots of things... All 3 of my kids even love it.

This place did well for me. On one of the busiest nights of the year they delivered. I arrived here with no reservations on valentine's day. We managed to get a table in less than 30 mins considering there was a 16 people party before us. They set each achievable expectations and delivered a great meal in a reasonable time. They were attentive to our table despite how busy it is and executed well. I recommend this place to anyone. Looking for a sushi dinner.

Not the best sushi I've ever had for the price point it''s borderline tipping point for going elsewhere. With that said as others have pointed out it's a safe choice for sushi and has a ton on the menu. Ramen seems like a second thought but it's cheap enough to give it a whirl. Overall it's a great lunch spot but if you're looking to impress i'd go elsewhere.

Was really impressed with this place. I would say it was better than the other Kinjo locations i have been to. The menu is stellar and especially loved the options for the mini ramen as a starter. Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was fast, seating was nice and staggered with elevation changes. Would be back here again for sure.

Excellent surface, great value and delicious bento boxes. Highly recommend Kinjo. Kudos to André for making our lousy day brighter.

Ate here for lunch today and was completely satisfied as a first time customer. Very friendly atmosphere from the moment my friend and i walked in. The food was great and our server Renze was amazing! He was attentive and friendly in a professional manner.

I come here every so often either with friends or on my own, and every time the service has been excellent. I enjoy the food and I keep somehow managing to order too much, it's really nice to have such a nice sushi restaurant so close to home.

Can't go right away to Japan, then this Wonderful place is where you can bring children to experience Japanese culture in Japanes cuisine setup, how crew compliments customers,how they sing to customers on bday and other celebrations. Food and ambiance is what you see in Japanese restaurants in Asia. Showcases Big Tuna catches, and with a little Japanese treats you can buy on your way out.

Fantastic quick service. Food was delicious and plentiful. Lots of various options to choose from. Bright and clean restaurant. Staff were friendly and ready to help with suggestions. Enjoyed the little shop at the entrance where you can buy treats to take home. We will be back. We had a very pleasant dining experience here.

We came in for a second time tonight to celebrate my 12 year old's birthday. The first time was a great experience but this one was even better. In this day and age of lacklustre customer service, I have to say, the service was EXEMPLARY. Andre, the GM, is so wonderful to interact with, always with a great smile on his face. He is the reason my son wanted to come back after the first time, and the second time-a month later--he remembered us and even created a special birthday treat for him not on the menu. (pictured). You can tell he truly cares about his guests, and enjoys his work. We will be coming back again and again, for the wonderful food, and even better customer service.

used to be a nice place. it just become one more from the bunch. their restaurants were pretty until the day their built the Japaneses sweets shop. Kinjo used to treat you with a nice welcome, give you samples while waiting for your order. Now when family ask for sushi I look some other place. Very sad to see how is going down.....

The 3rd time came to Kinjo Sushi. We were going to the different location nearby McKenzie Towe. Last Friday, my boyfriend took me to Kinjo Sushi, which is located on 7 Mahogany Heights SE Calgary. We arrived the restaurant right past 7:30 pm. It was so busy. But, it didn’t take us to long to find a table since the restaurant is super big.After we sat down, the server brought the menu to our table. This location is different from other locations that we were used to go. We have to order food from the menu. After discussed few minutes, we decided to order two special rolls, and two or three small dishes to share. The prices of the food are a little bit expensive. After the ordering, the food came out very fast. The taste of food is OK. Nothing excited compared to the sushi rolls in Vancouver.

Gaby did a phenomenal job at catering towards our every order. With very quick service we weren’t waiting long for any order to get made and left happy and full !

The food the service and the ambiance were all fantastic, when the bill came I couldn't believe my eyes. Everything is well priced, we tipped extra to show our gratitude for the excellent food and service. I also loaded up on Japanese treats on the way out.

Amazing sushi, and go on a Saturday and see the Tuna Carving show, it was excellent fun. I want to go every week.

Favourite sushi restaurant! Though I do wish octopus sashimi was still available (from what I’ve seen on SkipTheDishes). Other than that, the food is amazing! Hope in the future there will be more sushi rolls to choose from! :)

Ordered pick up today (08.14.20). The food is great and one thing is certain- the manager at the kinjo in Mahogany is a GEM he truly goes above and beyond for his patrons. For my circumstance I was blown away by his customer service. (Milk tea delivery)
